Benefits and Services of ABC x PhilHealth

PhilHealth launched YAKAP: Yamang ng Kalusugan Program—an initiative centered on delivering a primary care benefit package that reaffirms the government’s commitment to safeguarding every Filipino’s health and well-being in pursuit of a healthier nation. This program is developed as an expansion of the earlier Konsulta: Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama program, offering a package of accessible health services such as medicines, check-ups, and basic laboratory tests.

Recently, ABCs for Global Health became one of the accredited PhilHealth YAKAP Clinics, paving the way for the ABC x PhilHealth Awareness Campaign.

Several Filipinos originating from rural and underserved communities still don’t know to this day of their PhilHealth eligibility and the process of claiming benefits, which they could easily access by registering as a member of the YAKAP program. This lack of awareness and understanding often prevents their access to affordable and essential healthcare and medical services.

That is why this Awareness Campaign was developed to bridge this gap by increasing knowledge, awareness, and understanding among communities, particularly ABCGH’s adopted low-income families, as well as barangay health workers, local government health officers, and community leaders. Its goal is to encourage membership registration, increase the rates, and promote ABCGH as an accredited PhilHealth YAKAP provider, offering an accessible, cost-saving healthcare option.

Services under ABC x PhilHealth YAKAP

• Free primary care consultations and check-ups

• Basic laboratory and diagnostic tests

• Essential outpatient medicines through PhilHealth GAMOT (expanding coverage from 21 to 54 medicines, with a goal of 75 in the future)

• Cancer screening tests at select hospitals (with valid prescriptions)

• Access to outpatient treatment with no out-of-pocket expenses at accredited providers

• Multiple registration options via the eGov mobile app, PhilHealth Member Portal, Local Health Insurance Offices, or accredited YAKAP clinics

By bringing together these services—consultations, medicines, laboratory tests, and cancer screenings—PhilHealth YAKAP provides Filipinos with an accessible, preventive, and cost-saving approach to healthcare. It bridges the gap between families and the care they need, ensuring that even those in rural and underserved areas are not left behind. With ABC Global Health as an accredited provider, these benefits are now closer to the communities it serves, strengthening both awareness and access to essential health services while supporting the government’s vision of a healthier, more inclusive nation.
