What ABC’s for Global Health and You Can Achieve Together

In a world where healthcare, even basic medical services, is inaccessible to millions, ABC’s work is not only necessary—it becomes urgent. ABC’s for Global Health’s mission has always been clear: provide accessible, affordable, and compassionate healthcare services to the underserved communities. However, achieving lasting change in healthcare isn’t something that ABC can do alone. With the help of the community, partnerships, and a commitment to create healthier futures, you can be a part of the change. 

Taking Healthcare Where It’s Needed Most: Mobile Clinics

Mobile clinics  come into play when it comes to reaching underserved communities due to their geographic isolation, economic conditions, and lack of healthcare resources. 

These clinics are equipped with equipment and services that deliver primary care, maternal health care, vaccinations, and health screenings directly to rural and hard to reach communities. In 2024 alone, mobile units across regions of Southeast Asia, Africa, and Central America reached over 15,000 people who had never got the chance to seek medical services before. 

Each clinic is more than just to provide healthcare, but it also builds trust, gathers health data, and develops long-term solutions and care plans that are tailored to each community’s needs.

Empowering Through Education

Education is as vital as medicine and medical services. That’s why community education is a core part of ABC’s for Global Health’s mission and work. 

Educational programs, like workshops on topics like maternal and child care health, nutrition, hygiene, disease prevention and control, and sexual and reproductive health are part of ABC’s services and programs. They not only provide education and training, they also empower people and communities to take control of their health and make informed decisions within their households. 

Even with just a single workshop, it can start a ripple effect that inspires communities to engage and adopt these healthier practices. That’s how impactful shared knowledge can become. 

Training the Next Generation of Health Leaders

Training community health workers who understand the language, culture, and needs of their people not only localizes the services that the communities need, but also creates health leaders amongst the community. ABC partners with local health professionals, universities, and local organizations to achieve this goal. 

These healthcare professionals become the backbone of the delivery of services to places and communities where doctors and nurses are scarce. This enables the emergence of more resilient healthcare systems for the underserved communities. 

Responding to Crises Fast

ABC’s for Global Health is dedicated to responding swiftly to crises, whether they involve a natural disaster, an outbreak of a disease, or displacement brought on by conflict. 

Our rapid response team was one of the first to set up emergency medical stations following the 2024 typhoon in the Philippines, giving thousands of people access to clean water, first aid, and necessary medications. 

The goal of emergency response is to incorporate long-term resilience into recovery, not just provide temporary assistance. We remain involved to assist in the reconstruction of more robust systems, guaranteeing that communities are better equipped to face future difficulties.
