We engage and train passionate students and young professionals by providing high impact global immersion projects directly in the communities in the Philippines.
Training allows individuals to grow and to connect with people in the community, educational institutions, and local leadership. They expand their knowledge of challenges and disparities in healthcare while developing skills in teamwork, communication, and leadership. We have internships for medical and nursing students, as well as immersion opportunities for undergraduate and high school students who wish to serve disadvantaged communities and learn about community engagement and research in healthcare. |
Research is pivotal to healthcare transformation.
We collect aggregate data on our patients with hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, hyperlipidemia, and stroke to track their progress over time. These diseases are the most prevalent in the adult population and are the leading causes of deaths in the Philippines and globally. Our preliminary results among hypertensive patients who returned for follow up at least 6 times in a year show 49% maintained a normal BP and 30% showed improvement in BP. |
